Chief Amirfar began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department. He came to the Turlock Police Department in August 1990 and has served in every supervisory and command level role promoting through the ranks until his appointment as Captain in July 2015 and was appointed Chief in 2017.

I was able to see many countries of the world such as Turkey, South Korea, Egypt and Germany. I truly enjoy working with kids and seeing them achieve their dreams. Off duty, I enjoy travel, photography, and spending time with my family.
I have over ten years of experience working in the finance/accounting field through the private and public sector.
I currently hold a bachelors degree in business from CSU, Stanislaus and a masters degree in accounting from National University.
My parents are survivors of the Khmer Rouge and were refugees to America in the early 80's.

My parents are survivors of the Khmer Rouge and were refugees to America in the early 80's. They were aided by organizations who volunteered their time and resources to help people escape persecution. Being a member of PAL and volunteering in support of a great cause is my way of giving back.
My favorite hobbies include relaxing at home, watching movies, hanging out with my family, and going fishing.
I work for the City of Turlock Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities Supervisor, and Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family.
I am the Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Coordinator for the City of Turlock Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Department; and I act as the Staff Liaison on the Turlock PAL Board.

I have worked for TUSD for 32 years. I have two amazing sons. For personal enjoyment I spend time riding horses and managing my ranch…and loving on my grandson!
I have been living in Turlock since 1989 and have enjoyed working with amazing poeple and organizations to give back to my community and youth programs, such as Turlock PAL.
I have been a police officer with the City of Turlock for 3 years. Prior to that I worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Tulare County Sherriff’s Office for 2 years. I am currently an explorer advisor and a defensive tactics instructor.
